Enjoyable, watching this made me realise as a small kid born in the UK my black conscientiousness was shaped by Public Enemy and other rappers like them. Even today, I am so aware of who is behind our music and the message being sent out. So many are ignorant! One of the things that makes Orson Welles so fascinating to listen too is that all his motivations at the end seem in some way for moral purposes and he unapologetically tells the truth about things. No real filter. No self interest. No BS. Definitely an idealist but so much more. A fascinating listen ALWAYS and therefore always enriching as well.

Alex can be a little wild but I truly think he believes everything he says. And he digs deep on many issues. He is very correct in these 14 minutes.

Reading accounts of this horrifying crime in 1963, I believe that this was the real start of the moral decline of the U.K. and that the moral relativism of the time enabled the British people to rationalise away the severity of this crime, seeing the robbers as some kind of heroes - I personally believe that these train robbers should have received the death penalty for what they did and I recall many people of my grandparents generation believing the same thing when I was growing up as a Catholic in Rural Ireland in the 1970’s & 1980’s, as they were guided by the local Catholic Parish Priests in Ireland at the time who had preached some very forceful and strongly worded sermons at Sunday Masses back then - this strong Catholic moral sentiment was echoed by many Irish people coming back from England on holidays to Catholic Ireland when I was growing up
